Ryma comes from Mulhouse in France. She decided to do preparatory classes for Grande Écoles in Dijon where she specialized in physics and chemistry. After a national-ranked exam, she integrated into the National Graduate School of Chemistry of Montpellier, the 2nd best ranked ‘Grande Écoles’ chemistry in France, where she graduated as a chemical engineer. Her master’s specialty is bioprocess chemistry for sustainable development and it was during this year of specialty, that Ryma developed an interest in biosourced products such as biofuel. During her last year of studies, she did an internship for Laffort in Bordeaux as a researcher to use microfluidic tools for wine yeast crossing and breeding. This internship allowed her to discover the microfluidics for bioprocesses.

In October 2021, she joined the BioScope Team as a Ph.D. student, she uses her knowledge of microfluidics to develop an experimental study of the impact of sustainable biofuels on oxidation stability and combustion pollutants of fuels.
